Die/Wafer Storage, Handling, and Shipping Contents

Packing Containers:

Protect the product from mechanical damage during shipment.

Prevent individual wafers or die from contacting one another.

For singulated die, container pockets or placement spacing prevents contact with adjacent die and excessive movement of individual die.

Provide protection from static discharge, moisture and other contamination when sealed in the proper static and moisture protective bags. 

Wafer Vial: 

  • 4"-8" wafer vial style.
  • Protects wafers by surrounding with foam and separating each with a layer of  Tyvek ® paper.
  • Very good protection for thin and full thickness wafers.
  • Up to 25 wafers can be shipped inside vials.

Waffle Pack: 

  • Available in 2" x 2" and 4" x 4" size.
  • Die held in cavities with defined matrix.
  • Ideal for small to large volumes.
  • Die orientation indicated on label.

Gel-Pak®:

  • Available in 2" x 2" and 4" x 4" size.
  • Tacky membrane holds die securely in place.
  • Good for small volume applications.
  • Die orientation indicated on label.

Wafer Cassette:

  • Up to 8" wafer cassettes available.
  • Suitable for shipping full thickness wafers only.
  • Wafers are held securely by notches.
  • Up to 25 wafers contained per cassette.
  • Cassettes suitable for use on many assembly machines.

Tape and Reel:

  • 7" & 13" tape on reel style media.
  • Ideal for high volume applications.
  • Die are securely held by tacky tape.
  • One size tape can fit multiple die sizes.
  • 7 inch reels may have up to 7000 die/reel.
  • 13 inch reels may have up to 23,000 die/reel.

Sawn Wafer on Film Frame:

  • Wafers are mounted on tape & film frame then diced.
  • Up to 25 wafers per cassette.
